Data and privacy
MAIA keeps each workspace's data separate, encrypts it in transit and at rest, and does not train its models on your inputs.
Your own data#
What you put into MAIA stays in your workspace, and each source has its own way out.
| Source | What MAIA keeps | How it leaves |
|---|---|---|
| File upload | What MAIA keepsThe rows you imported, in your workspace | How it leavesDelete the layer or the table |
| Database sync | What MAIA keepsThe tables you chose to sync. Your database login is held by MAIA's replication provider, not by MAIA | How it leavesDisconnect removes the synced tables at once, from every project. Any remaining copy is deleted afterward |
| Knowledge | What MAIA keepsWhat you told MAIA, and what it noted from your conversations | How it leavesYou can read and delete every entry |
| Chat | What MAIA keepsYour conversations with the agent, in each project | How it leavesDelete the project |
How workspaces are kept apart#
- Each workspace is isolated. Your layers, uploads, and synced tables live in a database instance that belongs to your workspace alone, and the agent's queries run there with access to that project only. Projects, chat, skills, and knowledge are stored per workspace, and every read is scoped to yours.
- A project is private until its owner opens it to the workspace or sends a link.
What stays private to you#
Favorites, personal skills, and personal knowledge belong to you, not to your workspace. See Shared workspaces.
